1.    The Water Heroes contest has been launched by the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti. The main aim of the contest is to reach out to people with messages of water conservation and management.
2.    On the Global Innovation Index released by World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) India has ranked among top 50 countries for the first time. 
3.    India’s first multi-wavelength satellite “Astrosat” detected extreme Ultra Violet light from a galaxy located 9.3 billion light years away from the earth. The galaxy is called AUDFs01.
4.    Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport gets India’s tallest ATC tower to enhance the safety and boost the efficiency of air transport management services.
5.    India is now in the list of top10 countries in terms of total gold reserves. According to the World Gold Council, India has gold reserves totalling 618.2 tonnes. 
6.    Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus from Bangladesh was conferred the ‘Lamp of Peace of  Saint Francis’ award by the Vatican. He has received the award for his contribution towards establishing  peace and harmony.
7.     Rohan Bopanna and his Canadian partner Denis Shapovalov advanced to the quarterfinals of the US Open men’s doubles event here as they stunned sixth seeds Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies in a  hard-fought three-setter.
