  1. India reports 1.5 lakh new Covid cases, 3,128 deaths in last 24 hours
  2. The Odisha government on Sunday extended the lockdown across the state for another 16-days till June 17 to contain the spread of Covid-19.
  3. Odisha reported 8313 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours as the tally in the state reached 764997. Khurda district registered highest 974 fresh infections, followed by Cuttack (593) and Mayurbhanj (532).
  4. Another 11,881 Covid patients have recovered been discharged today informed the Health and Family Welfare department. With this, the total recovered cases of the states now stand at 670527.

A male Royal Bengal tiger found wobbling near the Harikhali camp in the Sundarbans on Saturday afternoon died while being shifted to the Sajnekhali camp on Sunday for treatment.The tiger is estimated to have been between 10 and 12 years old. An expert said it appeared to have died of weakness and old age.

Bengal Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay - controversially recalled by the centre last week after a row between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee - is unlikely to report to Delhi as ordered, sources told NDTV Monday morning. Mr Bandyopadhyay was ordered to report to the Department of Personnel and Training in Delhi's North Block by 10 am.

The arrival of monsoon over Kerala is likely to be delayed by two days and it is now expected to make an onset over the state by June 3, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday. IMD Director General M Mohapatra said there is cyclonic circulation along the Karnataka coast which is hindering the progress of the southwest monsoon.
