  11. The central govt. has blocked plans to launch doorstep delivery of rations in Delhi from next week. Anil Baijal, IAS has rejected the file for implementation of Doorstep Delivery of Ration citing 2 reasons - centre is yet to approve the scheme, and an ongoing court case. Previously Cabinet passed a decision to remove the name 'Mukhyamantri Ghar Ghar Ration Yojna' for the scheme and to implement doorstep delivery as part of the existing NFS Act, 2013.

It is expected to increase from around 7.5% in 2001 to almost 12.5% by 2026, and surpass 19.5% by 2050.
