- India's Covid chart continued to show improvement today, with the country recording 58,419 cases, the lowest in over 80 days. India, the second-worst hit country, now has 2.98 crore cases.
- Forty more persons succumbed to Covid-19 in Odisha during the last 24 hours. The Health and Family Welfare Department informed that as many as 3577 Covid positive cases were traced from Odisha within the last 24 hours.

- Families of Covid victims cannot be paid compensation as it applies to natural disasters only, the government told the Supreme Court, adding that states cannot afford to pay ₹ 4 lakh to every victim.

In Delhi, petrol and diesel prices per litre touched Rs 97.22/litre and Rs 87.97/litre respectively. Petrol price mounted to Rs 103.36 per litre in Mumbai, while diesel costs Rs95.44/litre. In Bangalore, petrol is Rs 100.47/litre and diesel is selling at Rs 93.26 per litre.

The ministry, in a statement, said 20,49,101 vaccine doses were administered as the first dose and 78,394 as the second dose in the 18-44 age group on Saturday.
- India has abstained on a UN General Assembly resolution on Myanmar, saying its views have not been reflected in the draft resolution and a “consultative and constructive” approach involving Myanmar’s neighbouring countries is important as the international community strives for the peaceful resolution of the issue.
