- India recorded 42,640 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the lowest since March 23, according to data released by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry on Tuesday.As it continued with a declining trend of coronavirus infection, the country reported 1,167 deaths. This is the fifth consecutive day in the last two months when the toll has been below the 2,000-mark.
- Odisha today crossed a major landmark of administering 1 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses. So far, 1,00,06,067 doses have been given to people in the state, as per the data available on CoWIN portal.
- Odisha reported as many as 2957 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours while 61608 samples were tested in the state, yesterday. The Test Positivity Rate (TPR) for the day stood at 4.7%. Khurda district registered highest 408 fresh infections, followed by Cuttack (272) and Jajpur (260).

- From Jul 2021, a higher Tax Deducted At Source (TDS) rate would be applicable for Income Tax Return (ITR) non-filers, according to the Finance Act, 2021. If a taxpayer has not filed TDS in the last 2 years & TDS deducted each year more than ₹50,000, the tax department will charge more while filing the ITR from July 1.
