- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today set fire to heaps of drugs at two locations as the state government started its drive to destroy narcotics worth over ₹ 170 crore seized over the past couple of months.
- The Centre has placed an order to procure 66 crore more doses of Covishield and Covaxin to be supplied between August and December this year, at a revised price of ₹ 205 and ₹ 215 per dose, respectively, excluding taxes, official sources said.

- The state Cabinet today approved the proposal of upgrading College of Engineering and Technology (CET), Bhubaneswar to become a non-affiliating Unitary University. The decision was taken in the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday evening.
- The results of the Matric examination will be declared before August 22, informed Education Secretary Satyabrata Sahu today. “The evaluation of exam papers to be done between August 10-15 and the results will be declared by August 22,” Sahu said.
