    1. The Shree Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri, which was closed for public since April 24 due to the COVID-19 situation, reopened for all devotees today.The darshan timings will be from 07:00 AM to 07:00 PM. The temple will remain closed for public darshan on all Saturdays and Sundays as a measure to contain the spread of COVID-19 and in order to sanitize the temple premises.
    2. As per a report shared by the office of Special Relief Commissioner, Keonjhar, Boudh, Angul, Jajpur, and Bhadrak district have recorded a severe deficit rainfall (shortfall of 39 to 59 per cent) during June 1 and August 22.

    13. The Taliban fired in the air and used batons to make people line up in orderly queues outside Kabul airport. A NATO official said that at least 20 people have died in the past seven days in and around the airport. Some were shot and others died in stampedes.
