  1. Bypolls to three Lok Sabha and 29 Assembly seats - across 13 states  - will be held today. Votes will be counted on Tuesday. The three Lok Sabha bypolls are in Himachal Pradesh (Mandi), Madhya Pradesh (Khandwa) and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.

  2. India reported 14,348 fresh COVID-19 cases and 805 deaths, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Friday.The country also reported 13,198 recoveries on Friday, taking the recovery rate at 98.19 per cent, which is the highest since March 2020.

  16. The Indian Coast Guard's new offshore patrol vessel (OPV) Sarthak was commissioned into service in Goa by its Director General K Natarajan on 28 Oct. Sarthak is fourth in a series of five OPVs being built by the Goa Shipyard Limited for the Indian Coast Guard (ICG).

  19. A mobile application has been developed to keep a vigil on the movements of fisher folk for the conservation of olive redley turtles and their eggs. The application will help the fishermen in identifying a no-fishing zone and get an alert when they enter the prohibited area for fishing from November 1 till May 31 within 20 km from the coast in the river mouths of Dhamra, Devi and Rushikulya.
