  10. Former Chief Secretary of Odisha Rabi Narayan Das passed away while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here. He was in his 80s. Das served as the Chief Secretary of the state during the regime of both JB Patnaik and Biju Patnaik between December 1, 1992 and September 30, 1995. He was the 28th Chief Secretary of the state.

Briefing mediapersons, State Election Commission (SEC) Secretary Rabindra Nath Sahu today said the ensuing Panchayat Polls will not be held in seven GPs this time as they have been included in NACs. The Central government on Monday extended the tenure of the Home Secretary, Defence Secretary, Director of Intelligence Bureau and Secretary of Research and Analysis Wing for a period of two years. According to the gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension on November 15, the tenure of these officials can be extended up to five years.
