  1. Veteran actor Biraj Dash died today at a private hospital here after a prolonged illness. He was 63. Dash was suffering from lungs cancer and had been admitted to the private hospital for past four months.
  2. India reported at least 2,124 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, taking the total tally of coronavirus cases to 4,31,42,192, while the active cases increased to 14,971, according to the Union Health Ministry.
  3. The Delhi government has brought in a scheme under which financial incentive will be provided to those buying electric cycles. According to the scheme guidelines, e-cycle buyers will get a purchase incentive of 25 per cent of the price with a cap of maximum ₹ 5,500 a piece. An additional incentive of ₹ 2,000 will be given to the first 1,000 individual owners of e-cycles.
  4. A Jawaharlal Nehru statue was vandalised in Madhya Pradesh's Satna. A video circulating on social media showed a dozen people trying to damage the statue with sticks and rocks. One of them even tries to break the statue using a hammer.
