  1. Odisha’s unemployment rate rose to a six-month high of 2.9 per cent in September, according to the latest data from the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE).
  2. The unemployment rate, which stood at 9.7 per cent in March 2022, came down to 1.5 per cent in April before rising to 2.6 per cent in May. It nosedived to 1.2 per cent in June and further to 0.9 per cent in July before rising to 2.6 per cent in August and 2.9 per cent in September this year, the CMIE data showed.
