World Haemophilia Day 2022 (April 17)

World Haemophilia Day was started in 1989 by the World Federation of Hemophilia.  Frank Schnabel was the  founder of  the World Federation of Hemophilia . April 17th was selected as World Haemophilia Day to commemorate the birthday of Frank Schnabel. Hemophilia is a "rare disorder" in which "blood  doesn't  clot normally because it lacks sufficient blood-clotting proteins," The day, dedicated to people living with haemophilia. It is observed to raise awareness and create a better future for them. 2021 the theme of World Haemophilia Day was  "Adapting to Change”

Every year on 17 April World Haemophilia Day is recognised worldwide to increase awareness of haemophilia, von Willebrand disease and other inherited bleeding disorders. This is a critical effort since with increased awareness comes better diagnosis and access to care for the millions who remain without treatment. The theme of the event 2022 year is “Access for All: Partnership. Policy. Progress. Engaging your government, integrating inherited bleeding disorders into national policy”.
