Micro-Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day is observed globally on 27th June every year since 2017. The world observes MSME Day in recognition of the significance of Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in reaching improvement objectives, selling innovation and creativity and producing jobs globally.

Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day: History

United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in its 74th Plenary meeting held on 6 April 2017 declared 27 June to be observed as Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day.  It has  to recognizes the importance of MSME in achieving sustainable development goals (SDG’s) . It also promotes  innovation, creativity and sustainable work for all.

Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day theme:

The theme is 'Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and an economy that is greener and fairer, requires resilient and flourishing MSMEs everywhere'.

With this theme, the UNDESA will be discussing actions that can be taken to ensure a quick COVID-19 recovery for the MSMEs while also keeping sustainable development goals in mind. It will also discuss ways to enhance creativity and innovation while providing decent work for all.

The MSME Day 2021 is being noticed amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and subsequent lockdown in a number of international locations which have a far-reaching impression on small enterprise. Indian Banks Sanction over Rs 75,000-Crore Loans to MSMEs Below Credit score Assure Scheme.
