The National Mountain Climbing Day

The National Mountain Climbing Day annually celebrates on 1 August. A mountain is a geographic feature that rises about 300 m (1000 feet) or more above its surrounding nature. A series of mountains situated together is called a mountain range. Everyone should climb a mountain at least once in their lives.

The National Mountain Climbing Day was initiated in the privilege of Bobby Matthews and his friend Josh Madigan who successfully ascended the 46th high peaks of New York states Adirondack Mountains. In the year 2015, the two young men completed the final 46th peak ‘the white face mountain’ on 1 August. They were formally inducted into the Adirondack 46er Club in May, 2016.  Later in May 2016, the “Adirondack 46er club” was formally addressed.
