Raksha Bandhan
Raksha Bandhan is observed on Sunday, August 22. This day siblings celebrate brotherly and sisterly bonds along with delicious delicacies Raksha Bandhan, the festival that celebrates the glorious bond between a brother and a sister. Following traditions, a sister ties a thread or talisman called rakhi around a brother's wrist. The thread is believed to protect the brother from evil. It also symbolises the sister's affection for the brother. The Hindu festival is observed on the full-moon day or Purnima in the Hindu calendar month of Shravan. In return, the brother promises to keep her happy always and protect her from all troubles. The festival celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters. Gifts are exchanged amid huge celebration.
