Teachers' Day / Shikshak Divas

Teachers' Day in India is celebrated every year on September 5. . It is also a celebration of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan's birth anniversary. Dr Radhakrishnan, the first Vice-President of India and the second President of India, was a teacher, scholar and philosopher par excellence. In India, it is marked on the birthday of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan who was the first Vice President of India (1952–1962) and also a highly-respected teacher, philosopher and prolific statesman. Dr Radhakrishnan went on to become the second President of India (1962-1967) and was of the opinion that “teachers should be the best minds in the country.”

Dr Radhakrishnan was an esteemed educationist. He was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna, the country's highest civilian honour. Dr Radhakrishnan denied any special treatment but suggested to the students that they could celebrate the day as Teachers' Day to recognise their contribution to society. A day to honour, recognise and celebrate the educators. This is a day to honour and show gratitude to all educators and teachers.


International Day of Charity

International Day of Charity is observed on 5 September every year. The day is observed to eradicate poverty in all its forms and dimensions to achieve sustainable development goals.
