Rose Day

Rose Day is observed on 22 September for the welfare of cancer patients . We can say that this day marks the hope for cancer patients that cancer is curable. This day is celebrated in the memory of a 12-year-old Melinda Rose of Canada, who when diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer and did not give up hope.

World Rose Day is marked in remembrance of Melinda Rose, a 12-year-old Canadian girl who was diagnosed with Askin’s Tumour, an unusual type of blood cancer. Many people’s lives were touched by Rose’s short existence. She did not give up hope of survival till her dying breath. In the six months of her life, she fought on and made each day count by positively impacting the lives of people around her.


World Rhino Day

World Rhino Day is celebrated annually on September 22.The Day is  to create awareness for all five Rhino species namely Sumatran rhino, Greater one-horned rhino, Black rhino, Javan rhino and white rhino. This year, the theme of this international event is 'Keep The Five Alive', that is, black, white, greater one-horned, Sumatran and Javan. World Wildlife Fund-South Africa in 2010, announced to celebrate this special day on September 22.
