World liver day

World liver day is observed on every 19 April, to spread awareness about liver related diseases. The liver is the second largest and the most complex organ in the body. Liver diseases can be caused by hepatitis A, B, C, alcohol and drugs. Viral Hepatitis occurs due to the consumption of contaminated food and water, unsafe sexual practices and drug abuse. As per World Health Organisation (WHO), liver diseases are 10th most common cause of death in India. It is a key player in your body's digestive system. Everything you eat or drink, including medicine, passes through the liver. You cannot survive without liver. It is an organ which can be easily damaged if you don’t take good care of it.  ‘Keep Healthy your Liver and diseases free’.
