World Soil Day

World Soil Day is observed on 5 December to raise awareness about the importance of soil, healthy ecosystems and human well-being. Soil salinization and sodification are major soil degradation processes threatening ecosystem . These are recognized as being among the most important problems at a global level for agricultural production, food security and sustainability in arid and semi-arid regions.

World Soil Day 2021 its campaign "Halt soil salinization, boost soil productivity" aims to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining healthy ecosystems and human well-being.


International Volunteer Day

International Volunteer Day is observed on 5 December every year. It was designated by the United Nations in 1985 as an international observance day to celebrate the power and potential of volunteerism. This day provides a chance for volunteers and organisations to celebrate their efforts, values and promote their work among their communities, etc.

It is an opportunity for volunteers to raise awareness and gain understanding for, the contribution they make to their communities.
