1882 – Friedrich Wohler, German chemist. He was the first to isolate the chemical elements beryllium and yttrium in pure metallic form. He was the first to prepare several inorganic compounds including silane and silicon nitride.

1939 – Sigmund Freud, an Austrian neurologist and the founder of psychoanalysis. Considers as the father of modern psychology.

2004 – Dr. Death of Raja Ramanna, Indian scientist, 4th Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission.
