1863 : US President Abraham Lincoln declared November 26 as Thanksgiving Day.

1885 – Meteorite photographed for the first time.

1932 – The great cricketer Don Bradman completed ten thousand runs in first-class cricket.

1941    – Lebanon became independent.

1949 : The Indian constitution presented by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was approved.

1960 – STD service started between Kanpur and Lucknow for the first time in India.

1965 : Asterix (A-1), France’s first satellite, was launched into space from Algeria.

1982 : The 9th Asian Games held in Delhi.

1997 : An Indian scientist, Technician Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam was awarded the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian honor.

2008 : Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistan-sponsored militant group, launched a terrorist attack in Mumbai. This incident is known as 26/11.
