  1. Bhajan Samrat Narendra Chanchal passed away at the age of 80. Born in Amritsar, Narendra Chanchal who considered Jalandhar as his workplace is no more with us. 
  2. With the government's talks with farmer unions hitting a roadblock, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Friday said some "forces" definitely want protests to continue for their own personal and political motives and no resolution is possible when the sanctity of agitation is lost.
  3. The Karnataka Chief Minister, BS Yediyurappa recently launched Avalokana software. The software will enable the state government to access data on expenditures and sanctions incurred on 1,800 programmes.

  5. The Indian Army is to conduct a large scale joint military exercise Kavach in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. The exercise is to be held under the aegis of Andaman and Nicobar Command. The Joint Military Exercise Kavach will involve Indian Navy, Indian Army, Indian Air Force and Indian Coast Guard.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of Rs 2 crore on Standard Chartered Bank–India for delays in reporting of frauds.  The penalty has been imposed on the bank for non-compliance with certain directions issued by it contained in the ‘Reserve Bank of India (Frauds – Classification and Reporting by commercial banks and select FIs) Directions 2016’.

  11. Class 10 students will appear the matriculation or annual high school certification (HSC) examination exams in Odisha this year at their own schools, sources at Board of Secondary Education (BSE) said on Friday.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has extended the last date for completing the Master’s degree or equivalent course with requisite percentage of marks as per the eligibility of National Eligibility Test (NET). As per the latest notification issued by UGC, the last date has been extended till December 31, 2021.
