- In a big relief to the people as well as the state administration, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Saturday said that the cyclonic storm brewing in the Bay of Bengal will not make landfall either in Odisha or in Andhra Pradesh, but will move parallel to the coast.
- Cooking gas prices were Saturday hiked by `50 per cylinder, the second increase in rates in just over six weeks following the firming up of international energy rates. - ମଙ୍ଗଳବାର ଅକ୍ଷୟ ତୃତୀୟା ଗୋଟିଏ ଦିନରେ ସାରା ଦେଶରେ ୧୫ ହଜାର କୋଟି ଟଙ୍କାର ସ୍ୱର୍ଣ୍ଣାଭୂଷଣ କିଣାବିକାରେ ନୂଆ ରେକର୍ଡ କାୟମ ହୋଇଥିବା କନଫେଡେରେସନ ଅଫ ଅଲ ଇଣ୍ଡିଆ ଟ୍ରେଡର୍ସ(ସିଏଆଇଟି) ସାଧାରଣ ସମ୍ପାଦକ ପ୍ରବୀଣ ଖଣ୍ଡେଲୱାଲ କହିଛନ୍ତି। କୋଭିଡ-୧୯ ଲକଡାଉନ ପରେ ପ୍ରଥମ ଥର ଅକ୍ଷୟ ତୃତୀୟାରେ ସବୁଠୁ ବେଶି ଆଭୂଷଣ ବ୍ୟବସାୟ ହୋଇଥିବା ସେ କହିଛନ୍ତି।

- Akshaya Tritiya’ -Agrarian festival was celebrated across Odisha with farmers performing ‘Akhi Muthi Anukula’, the ceremonial act of sowing seeds in their paddy fields after ploughing. The occasion marks the commencement of agricultural works.

The Election Commission said, polling will be held on the 31st of this month and the counting of votes will be taken up on 3rd of next month.
- The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) yesterday opened the double-lane stretch of the four-lane Bajaura bridge over the Beas in Kullu for traffic from the Jhiri to Bhuntar road and the Kullu bypass. Now, vehicles going from the Mandi side to Manali or Manikaran and vice-versa could take this route to avoid Bhuntar and Kullu towns.
