1.ଲଣ୍ଡନର ‘ୟୁନିଭର୍ସିଟି କଲେଜ ଲଣ୍ଡନ’ର ପ୍ରଫେସର ସୋଫି ସ୍କଟ୍‌ଙ୍କ ନେତୃତ୍ୱରେ ହୋଇଥିବା ଗବେଷଣା ତଥ୍ୟ ଅନୁଯାୟୀ, ମଣିଷ ଶରୀରରେ ଦୁଇ ପ୍ରକାରର ହସ ଦେଖାଯାଏ। ପ୍ରଥମଟି ହେଉଛି ସ୍ବତଃସ୍ଫୂର୍ତ୍ତ ହସ, ଯାହା କୌଣସି ମଜାଦାର ଘଟଣା ଯୋଗୁ ଆପେ ଆପେ ଆସିଥାଏ ଏବଂ ଏହାକୁ ରୋକିବା ସହଜ ହୋଇ ନଥାଏ। ଦ୍ୱିତୀୟଟି ହେଉଛି ଇଚ୍ଛାକୃତ ହସ, ଯାହା ମଣିଷ ସାଧାରଣତଃ କଥାବାର୍ତ୍ତା ବେଳେ ବା ସାମାଜିକ ସମ୍ପର୍କ ରଖିବା ପାଇଁ ବ୍ୟବହାର କରିଥାଏ।
