- Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the Kushinagar airport in Uttar Pradesh with a flight from Sri Lanka becoming the first to touch down at the new airport.

- India logged 13,596 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the lowest daily rise in the last eight months or 230 days, the Health Ministry's data showed on Monday. 166 people have died of Covid in the last 24 hours.
- All private and government-run Odia and English medium schools in Odisha will begin offline classes for students of Standard 11 and Standard 8th from 21st October and 25th October respectively .
- India’s coal import registered a decline of 2.7 per cent to 15.22 million tonnes (MT) in August this year amid the country’s power plants grappling with fuel shortages. The country imported 15.64 MT of coal in the corresponding month last year.

- India recorded lowest daily rise in Covid cases since early March with 14,146 fresh infections on Sunday. 144 deaths were recorded in the country due to coronavirus, which took the total death count to 4,52,124.

- ଦେଶରେ ଦିନକ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ୧୩,୫୯୬ ନୂଆ କରୋନା ସଂକ୍ରମିତ ଚିହ୍ନଟ ହୋଇଛନ୍ତି । ଏଥିସହିତ ଦିନକ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ୧୬୬ ଜଣ କରୋନା ଆକ୍ରାନ୍ତଙ୍କର ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ଘଟିଛି । ୨୪ ଘଣ୍ଟାରେ ୧୯,୫୮୨ ଜଣ କରୋନାରୁ ସୁସ୍ଥ ହୋଇଛନ୍ତି । ଏହାକୁ ମିଶାଇ ଦେଶରେ ମୋଟ ୩,୩୪,୩୯,୩୩୧ ଜଣ କରୋନାରୁ ଆରୋଗ୍ୟଲାଭ କରିସାରିଲେଣି ।

- ବାଂଲାଦେଶ ଆନ୍ତର୍ଜାତୀୟ ସୀମା ରହିଥିବା ୩ ରାଜ୍ୟ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ୫୦ କିଲୋମିଟର ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ BSF ବା ବର୍ଡର ସିକ୍ୟୁରିଟି ଫୋର୍ସର କ୍ଷମତା ବୃଦ୍ଧି ପାଇବ । ଆସାମ, ପଶ୍ଚିମବଙ୍ଗ, ପଞ୍ଜାବ ସୀମାରେ BSFର ଅଧିକାର ବୃଦ୍ଧି କରିବାକୁ ନିଷ୍ପତ୍ତି ନେଇଛନ୍ତି କେନ୍ଦ୍ର ସରକାର । ଏବେ BSFର କ୍ଷମତା ୧୫ କିମି ସୀମା କ୍ଷେତ୍ର ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ରହିଛି । ଅର୍ଥାତ ଏବେ ମାଜିଷ୍ଟ୍ରେଟଙ୍କ ବିନା ଅନୁମତିରେ ସୀମା କ୍ଷେତ୍ରଠାରୁ ୫୦ କିଲୋମିଟର କ୍ଷେତ୍ର ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବିଏସଏଫ୍ ସର୍ଚ୍ଚ ଅପରେସନ ଓ ଗିରଫ କରିପାରିବ ।

- ଜାତୀୟ ବରିଷ୍ଠ ମହିଳା ଫୁଟବଲ ଦଳରେ ୨ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଖେଳାଳୀ ସ୍ଥାନ ପାଇ ରାଜ୍ୟ ପାଇଁ ଗୌରବ ଆଣି ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି। ସ୍ବିଡେନ ସହ ବନ୍ଧୁତ୍ୱପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ମ୍ୟାଚ ଖେଳିବା ପାଇଁ ଜାତୀୟ ବରିଷ୍ଠ ମହିଳା ଫୁଟବଲ ଦଳରେ ୨ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଖେଳାଳୀ ସ୍ଥାନ ପାଇଛନ୍ତି। ସେମାନେ ହେଉଛନ୍ତି ପ୍ୟାରୀ ଖାଖା ଓ ମନିଷା ପାନ୍ନା।
