1.The Jharkhand High Court has delivered a historic verdict to provide justice, dignity and social security to rape victims. It has imposed a complete ban on the unscientific and inhumane 'two-finger test' in all government and private hospitals. The World Health Organization has also stated that there is no scientific basis for this test.

2.In a significant move to ensure patient safety, the Odisha State Health Assurance Society has issued a stern notice to 35 private and government hospitals across the state whose fire safety certificates have expired.
