- India reports 1.5 lakh new Covid cases, 3,128 deaths in last 24 hours
- The Odisha government on Sunday extended the lockdown across the state for another 16-days till June 17 to contain the spread of Covid-19.
- Odisha reported 8313 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours as the tally in the state reached 764997. Khurda district registered highest 974 fresh infections, followed by Cuttack (593) and Mayurbhanj (532).
- Another 11,881 Covid patients have recovered been discharged today informed the Health and Family Welfare department. With this, the total recovered cases of the states now stand at 670527.
- After 47 days, less than 100 bodies were cremated or buried as per Covid protocol on Saturday. According to data from the East, North and South MCDs, which manage crematoriums and graveyards in the city, last rites of 82 people – 79 cremations and three burials – were conducted.
- DELHI recorded 956 Covid-19 cases on Saturday over the past 24 hours, the first time the numbers fell below four digits in 67 days.

- The Finance Minister said, the GST Council has decided to waive I-GST on free COVID-19 related supplies imported from abroad. So far, the IGST exemption was available only when the relief items were being imported free of cost. This exemption has been extended till 31st August.

- India on Saturday reported 1,73,790 fresh Covid-19 cases while 3,617 patients succumbed to the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry said. India’s overall tally of Covid-19 cases now stands at 2,77,29,247 with 22,28,724 active cases, and 3,22,512 deaths, so far.
- Odisha registered 7,188 fresh COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours taking tally to 7,47,143, informed the State Information & Public Relation Department today. Of fresh cases, 4026 were reported from different quarantine centres and 3162 were local contacts.
- Veteran journalist Basant Das is no more. He lost his battle to COVID-19 today. The senior journalist was undergoing treatment for COVID-19 at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. He passed away in the morning. He was 81.
