- India's total tally of COVID-19 cases surged to 2,89,96,473 with 86,498 new infections being reported in a day, while the recoveries have crossed 2.73 crores, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Tuesday. Previously Cabinet passed a decision to remove the name 'Mukhyamantri Ghar Ghar Ration Yojna' for the scheme and to implement doorstep delivery as part of the existing NFS Act, 2013.
