ଫୁଡ୍ ସେଫ୍ଟି ଆଣ୍ଡ ଷ୍ଟାଣ୍ଡାର୍ଡ ଅଥରିଟି ଅଫ୍ ଇଣ୍ଡିଆ (FSSAI) କହିଛି ଯେ, ଲୋ ସୁଗାରର ଦାବି କେବଳ କରାଯାଇପାରିବ ଯେଉଁଥିରେ ୧୦୦ ଗ୍ରାମ ଓଜନର ଜିନିଷରେ ସୁଗରର ପରିମାଣ ୫ ଗ୍ରାମରୁ କମ୍ ଥିବ। ସୁଗର ଫ୍ରି ପାଇଁ ୧୦୦ ଗ୍ରାମ ଓଜନ ପ୍ରତି ଚିନି ପରିମାଣ ୦.୫ ଗ୍ରାମରୁ ଅଧିକ ହେବା ଉଚିତ୍ ନୁହେଁ। ହେଲେ କମ୍ପାନୀଗୁଡିକ ଯଦି ଏହି ନିୟମକୁ ପାଳନ କରୁ ନାହାନ୍ତି ତେବେ ଏହା ଶରୀର ପ୍ରିତ ହାନିକରକ ଅଟେ।
